Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Chaos Rising

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II - Chaos Rising continued the Blood Ravens campaign with the addition of Chaos corruption mechanics. The expansion tracked player choices that could lead characters toward or away from corruption, creating meaningful narrative consequences. The Chaos Space Marines arrived as both enemies and potential fate for the protagonists.

The corruption system added moral weight to gameplay decisions. Using corrupted equipment or making cruel choices pushed characters toward Chaos, unlocking powerful abilities at the cost of their souls. The branching narrative created replay value through different ending paths.

The new campaign continued directly from the base game, raising the stakes with the Chaos invasion. The Black Legion provided dramatically different opponents from the Tyranids and Orks of the original. New units and equipment expanded tactical options.

Chaos Rising demonstrated that narrative choices could meaningfully integrate with tactical gameplay. The corruption mechanics created genuine dilemmas about power versus purity.
