Space Hulk: Tactics
Space Hulk: Tactics adapts the claustrophobic board game of Terminator combat in drifting space wrecks. Players command either Space Marine Terminators or Genestealer broods through narrow corridors where death waits around every corner. The tactical tension of the original board game translates effectively, creating moments of genuine terror and heroic last stands.
The Blood Angels campaign follows a Terminator squad investigating a Space Hulk, while the Genestealer campaign presents the alien perspective defending their territory. The asymmetric factions play completely differently - Terminators are powerful but slow, while Genestealers are fragile but fast and numerous. Both campaigns offer substantial content with branching mission paths.
The card system adds tactical flexibility beyond the board game, with each side playing cards that modify abilities or create unexpected situations. Deck building before missions allows strategic customization. The command point system forces difficult decisions about which actions to take each turn.
Multiplayer includes competitive matches and a map editor for community-created scenarios. The AI provides adequate challenge for solo players, though human Genestealer players create more unpredictable threats. Space Hulk: Tactics succeeds as a digital board game adaptation while adding meaningful new elements.
