Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin

Warhammer Age of Sigmar: Realms of Ruin is a real-time strategy game developed by Frontier Developments and published by Focus Entertainment. Released in November 2023, it brings the Mortal Realms to life as the first RTS set in the Age of Sigmar universe. Players command the Stormcast Eternals, Orruk Kruleboyz, Nighthaunt, or Disciples of Tzeentch in fast-paced battles across the war-torn realm of Ghur.

The gameplay combines base building with squad management. Resources are generated through control points, similar to Dawn of War. Each faction plays completely differently: Stormcast are elite and resilient, Kruleboyz are cunning and poisonous, Nighthaunt are ethereal and relentless, and Tzeentch forces are magical and manipulative.

The campaign leads through a gripping story with interesting characters and surprising twists. The Stormcast protagonists fight not only against external enemies but also with the consequences of their reforging. The cinematic cutscenes prove impressive in bringing the narrative to life.

Realms of Ruin has received mixed reviews. The gameplay earns praise, but the lack of factions and maps at launch drew criticism. As the first Age of Sigmar RTS, it had a challenging start but shows the potential of the setting. Additional content has been announced to expand the game's roster and battlefields.
