Warhammer 40,000: Squad Command is a turn-based tactics game developed by RedLynx for PSP and Nintendo DS. Released in 2007, Ultramarines fight against Chaos forces in destructible environments. The portable format offered surprising tactical depth.

The gameplay cleverly uses the hardware limitations. Destructible buildings create dynamic battlefields that change during combat. Squad-based tactics require careful positioning. Various weapons and units offer customization options.

The campaign leads through classic 40K scenarios on multiple worlds. Multiplayer via ad-hoc enables local battles. For a handheld game, the scope was considerable.

Squad Command was praised for its ambitions on limited hardware. It proved that 40K could work in your pocket, paving the way for future mobile Warhammer games.
