Warhammer Online: Age of Reckoning is a massively multiplayer online role-playing game developed by Mythic Entertainment and released in 2008. Set in the Warhammer Fantasy world during a time of apocalyptic conflict, the game features large-scale warfare between the forces of Order and Destruction. Players choose sides in an eternal war that shaped the MMO landscape with its innovative Realm vs Realm combat.

The gameplay centers on the conflict between two opposing factions, each containing multiple playable races and classes. Order includes the Empire, Dwarfs, and High Elves, while Destruction fields the forces of Chaos, Greenskins, and Dark Elves. Each race offers unique classes with distinct roles, abilities, and visual styles rooted in Warhammer lore. Characters advance through both PvE questing and PvP combat.

Realm vs Realm warfare drives the endgame, with massive battles for control of keeps, fortresses, and ultimately enemy capital cities. Public Quests introduced a revolutionary approach to cooperative content, automatically grouping nearby players for multi-stage encounters. The campaign system tracked territorial control across zones, with victory conditions determining which faction could assault the opposing capital.

Though the official servers closed in 2013, Warhammer Online's influence persists in the MMO genre and through private server communities. The game remains notable for its focus on meaningful large-scale PvP, faithful adaptation of Warhammer's Age of Reckoning setting, and introduction of systems that influenced subsequent online games.
